The emblem of United Methodist Women, the cross and the flame, symbolizes our organization. As United Methodist Women, we share our gift of God with others through Missions. As parts of our emblem, the cross and flame reminds us of our PURPOSE The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand Concepts of Mission through participation in the global Ministries of the Church. We just celebrated in 1997 twenty five years as United Methodist Women. In our organization we have sixty three members, forty nine of these are active. We are a seven-star unit which means all the funds raised by our group go to Missions here in the USA and around the world. They are:
