Heather McKay is a nationally know Dementia Care Specialist providing training and consultation for professional and family caregivers on issues related to dementia and Alzheimer Care. Dementia Care may be the most demanding illness today for caregivers, family members and friends. As Dementia has become more prevalent, the needs of people and their families dealing with dementia have grown. Wednesday, February 22 6:30 PM Sanctuary Ash Wednesday is a call to repentance and reconciliation within the community of faith. The use of ashes as a sign of repentance has a long history in Jewish and Christian worship. It is traditional to save the palm branches form the previous Palm Sunday service and burn them ahead of time to produce the ashes for this service. This is a service for all ages and family freely. |

Ryan Bailey, a senior at Southern Alamance High School is hosting a food drive at Davis Street UMC. As part of the requirements for graduation, seniors are required to develop and implement a senior project. Ryan's senior project is on the “Effects of Childhood Hunger.” His research has shown that even in our own community childhood hunger is a real issue. As part of his senior project, he is hosting a Food Drive here at Davis Street Church during the season of Lent. There wil be canned food collection containers set up Davis Street starting Ash Wednesday, February 22. |
Divorce Recovery
There is Help…. There is Hope…. There will be a Divorce Recovery Workshop at Davis Street UMC that will be held in weekly sessions beginning in March. The workshop has eight sessions. This is for persons that have divorced or are in the process of getting a divorce. The Rev. Gene Ferrell will be the facilitator.
